Inside the December 2008 Issue Christmas is Coming... What is Christmas without all the trimmings—fragrant wreaths and evergreen trees, twinkling lights, sparkling ornaments, home-baked cookies, and shiny wrapped packages under the tree. Speaking of packages under the tree, in this issue, we are happy to feature a variety of Christmas projects to fulfill your gift-giving needs. Create a safe place to store treasured holiday mementos with Pat Smelkoff’s “Joy” Ornament Box. This clever design can also be used for a welcome banner to hang on a porch. Designer Terry Raposa, new to Quick & Easy Painting, painted a Gingerbread Man Jug Lamp to light up the season. Decorate an entire room with this theme by using the lampshade border design on curtains, table runners, placemats, and more. Be sure to watch for additional country-style projects from Terry in upcoming issues. Bob Pennycook’s multimedia Snowman Pocket makes for a terrific add-on to a package and also doubles as an ornament, but wouldn’t it look great on the back of a denim jacket or on a large tote? You won’t want to miss Prudy Vannier’s Peppermint Santa Basket featured on our cover. It’s a perfect fit as a candy basket, but this design can also be adapted to a number of surfaces, including boxes, plaques, stools, ornaments, and more.
